The role

Support work, out with the dogs

This is a one-to-one support role built around one of our Traralgon clients and their dog walking micro-enterprise - a real, client-owned little business, walking dogs around the local neighbourhood. Support work here is less about routine tasks and more about connection, participation and helping someone build confidence and independence doing something they love.

Your job is to walk beside them, not in front of them. You would help them plan the rounds, be a steady and encouraging presence on the walks, and lend a hand with the behind-the-scenes bits - all while they stay firmly in charge of their enterprise. It is theirs; you are there to make it possible. And because the whole thing runs on dogs, a genuine love of dogs and the confidence to be around them is a must.

  • Who we are looking forWarm, patient people who genuinely love dogs and are happy to be active and outdoors in all weather. Experience and qualifications are a plus but not essential - lived experience is valued, and we support the right people to grow.

  • Required checksA valid Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check are required - we can help you arrange them.
  • Driver licenceA current driver licence is a must - the role involves getting to and from the client's dog walking rounds.
  • HoursCasual to start, with flexible hours built around the client's rounds, and room to grow with consistent hours over time.
