Community Participation

Community Participation is about getting out and being part of things - the activities, programs and places that matter to you across Bairnsdale and East Gippsland. We provide support and transport to help you get there, and a familiar face to help you navigate new environments with confidence.

A lot of this happens at ESports Collective in Bairnsdale, but it can just as easily be out in the wider community. The goal is connection - meeting people, taking part, and building the independence to keep doing it. If you are looking for regular shared sessions with the same group week to week, see our Group Activities.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to take part in gaming programs?
No. ESports Collective is one option, but community participation can happen anywhere across Bairnsdale and East Gippsland that suits your goals.
Is transport included?
Yes, transport support to get to and from activities can be part of this support, depending on your plan. We support participants across Bairnsdale, Lakes Entrance, Paynesville, Sale and surrounding towns.
What is the difference between Community Participation and Group Activities?
Community Participation is one-to-one support and transport to help you access the places and activities you choose. Group Activities are regular shared sessions with the same group, week to week. Many participants use both.
How is community participation funded?
Community Participation sits under Core supports (Social & Community Participation) in your NDIS plan. We are happy to talk through how your plan applies.
